Update on the RAP Technical Review - Summary of Recommended Actions in preparation

Dec 07, 2011

Toronto and Region Remedial Action Plan (RAP) Technical Review Update:  A consolidated update of the 53 Recommended Actions, as identified in the 1994 report Clean Waters, Clear Choices, is in preparation

On April 20, 2011, the Remedial Action Plan team hosted a public open house and workshop to launch the first Remedial Action Plan review and update since 1994.  At this workshop, the most commonly heard participant feedback was of the need to know what remedial actions had already been completed and what actions remained to be addressed.

To this end, the Remedial Action Plan team is endeavoring to catalogue the actions and practices that have been, or are currently being, implemented to address the 53 RAP Recommended Actions (as identified in the RAP document Clean Water, Clear Choices (1994)).  Although summarizing this information was anticipated to occur at a later stage in the RAP review and update process, it is hoped that its earlier preparation and release will serve as a resource for participants throughout the consultations.

Looking forward, we are now confident in reporting that the update on the Clean Waters, Clear Choices RAP Recommended Actions will be released in February, 2012, with resumed stakeholder consultation planned for March or April, 2012.  Information about the Technical Review and Update process will be posted as available at www.torontorap.ca

We thank you for your continued interest in the Toronto and Region Remedial Action Plan.  Should you have further questions regarding the Remedial Action Plan review and update process please address them to torontorap@trca.on.ca.
